What If You’re More Powerful Than You Think?

There is a version of spirituality that can become surprisingly passive.

We learn how to notice signs, receive messages, interpret intuition, sense energy, understand patterns, and ask spirit what we need to know. All of that can be incredibly valuable. But lately, I have been wondering if we have accidentally stopped halfway.

What if the point of spiritual development is not simply to become more aware of what is happening around you? What if it is to become more capable of changing what is happening within you?

That question has been following me everywhere lately, especially as I look at my own work with energy, spirit communication, personal transformation, and the patterns we carry through our lives. The more I explore it, the more convinced I am that we have access to far more personal and energetic power than most of us realize.

Awareness Is Not the Same as Transformation

There is a huge difference between recognizing a pattern and actually changing it.

You can understand exactly where an insecurity came from, know which family dynamics created it, identify the energetic pattern underneath it, and still continue living inside it. You can receive an incredibly clear message from spirit and still stay stuck in exactly the same place.

Awareness gives us information. Transformation happens when we do something with it.

This is where I think spiritual development gets much more interesting. Rather than only sensing the energy around us, we can learn to work with our own energy intentionally. Rather than constantly asking spirit what is coming, we can explore who we need to become in order to meet what is coming. Rather than assuming every old pattern needs years of processing, we can become curious about whether some of those patterns are simply ready to be released.

That does not mean bypassing real emotions, trauma, healing, or the human experience. It means questioning the assumption that change always has to be hard.

Sometimes Energy Changes Faster Than We Expect

One of the experiences that dramatically changed my understanding of this happened through my relationship with alcohol.

For years, alcohol was connected to habit, family patterns, social conditioning, and my own nervous system. Then one night, something shifted. I could physically feel an energetic pattern moving out of my body. I barely slept because the experience was so noticeable.

Afterward, the craving I had experienced for years was simply gone.

That moment made me question everything I thought I understood about how long transformation was supposed to take.

Since then, I have seen similar shifts happen in energy work with clients. Sometimes a pattern we assume is deeply fixed is no longer compatible with who that person has become. When the underlying energetic structure changes, the old pattern may stop fitting in the same way.

I think of it almost like changing one piece of a puzzle. If you alter the shape of the piece, the old pieces cannot connect to it the same way anymore.

You Can Test This With Your Own Energy

You do not need a dramatic spiritual experience to begin exploring this idea.

Notice how you feel right now. Pay attention to your posture, breathing, emotions, thoughts, and general energetic state without trying to improve any of it.

Then intentionally adjust something small. Sit differently. Slow your breathing. Bring your attention fully into your body and set the intention to move into the best energetic state currently available to you.

Then notice what changes.

For many people, something shifts almost immediately. The body softens. The mind becomes clearer. The breath changes. There may be a greater sense of calm, focus, confidence, or presence.

Nothing external changed. You did.

That is what makes this experiment so interesting. If your internal state can change through a small moment of conscious energetic intention, what happens when you begin doing that consistently?

Those tiny shifts influence how you respond to other people, how you make decisions, how clearly you access your intuition, and what energy you bring into your work, relationships, and everyday life.

Spiritual Connection Should Lead Back to Your Own Power

There is another trap I see frequently in spiritual development: outsourcing our power to the very practices that were supposed to help us reclaim it.

We wait for another sign. Another psychic reading. Another message from our spirit guides. Another teacher to tell us we are ready. Another wound to heal before we allow ourselves to move forward.

Spirit can guide us. Teachers can help us. Mediumship, intuition, energy work, and spiritual practices can reveal information we might never access otherwise.

But the destination should not be dependence.

The deeper purpose is sovereignty.

The more connected you become, the more capable you should become of recognizing your own energy, making aligned decisions, changing what no longer serves you, and participating consciously in the direction of your life.

That is the territory I want to explore next

.

In Episode 200 of The Unity Code, What If You’re More Powerful Than You Think?, I go much deeper into this idea, including the energetic pattern that changed my relationship with alcohol, how I am seeing rapid transformation show up in client work, and a 60-second experiment you can try yourself.

This episode also marks the beginning of a new chapter for the podcast. We are going to test more of these ideas together, explore energy, consciousness, intuition, mediumship, ancestral patterns, human potential, and ask a much bigger question:

What else might we be capable of?
