Is the Energy of Your Home Is Keeping You Stuck with K. Margaret Solorio

We spend an enormous amount of time trying to change ourselves. We work through old beliefs. We heal relationships. We develop spiritually. We change careers, leave relationships, become parents, lose people, start over, and gradually become versions of ourselves that would have been almost unrecognizable ten years ago.
But there is one part of that transformation we rarely think about: the environment where all of it is happening.
In a recent conversation on The Unity Code, intuitive guide and Home Frequency Reset creator K. Margaret Solorio brought up an idea I haven't stopped thinking about. We can be actively becoming someone new while living in an environment filled with objects, habits, emotional associations, and even tiny daily frustrations that belonged to who we used to be.
Your home isn't necessarily neutral
Think about something in your house that annoys you every single day. Maybe it's the drawer you have to slam shut. The pile of papers you've stopped noticing. The inherited piece of furniture that doesn't actually fit anywhere, but you feel guilty getting rid of it. The towels you hate but haven't replaced because technically they're still usable.
None of those things sounds particularly transformational.
But that's exactly what made this conversation interesting.
K. Margaret described working with a client who had inherited a large coffee table. It didn't fit the space particularly well, and the client was literally tripping over it, but giving it away felt emotionally complicated because of who it came from. What looked like a furniture problem was also an attachment problem.
Our belongings don't exist without context. They can represent people, identities, expectations, memories, guilt, scarcity, old seasons of our lives, or simply decisions we made years ago that we continue living with because we've never stopped to reconsider them.
The question becomes less “Is my house cluttered?” and more interesting: Does the environment around me still make sense for who I am now?
The energetic and practical explanations don't have to compete
There is a metaphysical layer to this conversation. K. Margaret's work involves intuitively reading and energetically clearing homes, and she believes spaces can retain energetic residue from the people and experiences within them.
But you don't have to accept that explanation to notice that environments affect us.
Light changes how a room feels. Fresh air changes it. Clutter can affect our attention and stress. Objects trigger memories and emotions. A room designed around the way you actually live feels different from one you're constantly fighting against.
The energetic explanation adds another possibility: perhaps we're not only responding psychologically and physically to our environments. Perhaps we're interacting with them energetically too.
That's where this becomes a very Unity Code question. You don't have to decide what you believe before you investigate what you experience.
Try changing one thing
The most useful part of this conversation may also be the simplest. Don't overhaul your entire house. Pick one thing.
Open the windows and notice what changes. Clear the pile that's been irritating you. Fix the drawer you've been slamming for six months. Replace something you interact with every day but secretly hate. Put something in your space that represents who you're becoming rather than who you've been.
Then pay attention.
Maybe what changes is psychological. Maybe it's energetic. Maybe removing one source of friction simply makes your morning five percent less annoying. Maybe you notice absolutely nothing.
That's still information.
Because the larger point isn't that everyone needs a perfectly organized, energetically pristine home. It's that your environment is part of your lived experience, and it deserves to be included in the conversation about transformation.
You've spent a lot of time becoming who you are now.
It might be worth looking around and asking whether the space you're living in has caught up.
