There is a very specific kind of frustration that happens when you know you are good at what you do, but your business still feels harder than it should.
You have the skills. You have the experience. You care deeply about your clients. You may even have the testimonials, the training, the certifications, the intuition, the strategy, and the receipts. On paper, everything looks like it should be working. But the offer is not landing. The messaging feels off. The sales process feels heavy. Visibility feels exhausting. And at some point, you start wondering if the problem is you.
In this episode of The Unity Code, I sat down with Lori Young, known as the Offer Magician, to talk about the hidden misalignment leaks that quietly drain a soul-led business. Lori is an offer and business positioning strategist who helps coaches and transformation-focused experts turn what they know into offers people actually want to buy. Her work is not about forcing your business into another generic formula. It is about helping you see the genius you already carry, package it clearly, and build offers that energize both you and the people you are here to serve.
And this conversation matters because a lot of brilliant soul-led entrepreneurs are not struggling because they are untalented. They are struggling because their business is built around misaligned offers, misaligned delivery, or misaligned visibility strategies that were never designed for their energy in the first place.
The Market Has Changed, and So Have You
One of the biggest themes in this conversation was the shift happening in the online business world. The old strategies are not landing the same way. Generalist messaging is becoming harder to sell. AI has changed the landscape. Buyers are more discerning. The market is more saturated. And people are no longer throwing money at vague transformation promises just because the branding is pretty.
That does not mean soul-led business is dead. It means unclear business is becoming much harder to hide.
Lori shared that before she became known for offer strategy and positioning, she spent years as a marketing generalist. She handled launches, content, websites, funnels, and a little bit of everything. But around 2023, she started noticing a major shift. People were no longer hiring generalists in the same way. They wanted specialists. They wanted clarity. They wanted someone who could solve a specific problem.
The interesting part is that Lori did not immediately know what her own lane was. She knew something needed to change, but she had to go through her own identity shift before she could fully see her genius. That is the part so many entrepreneurs skip over. They want a cleaner offer, better messaging, or stronger sales, but they do not always realize that offer alignment often begins with identity alignment.
You cannot sell your genius clearly if you have not fully claimed it yet.
Misalignment Leak #1: Your Offer Is Not Built Around Your Natural Genius
The first major misalignment leak Lori named is one I see constantly in spiritual and soul-led businesses: creating offers based on what you think will sell instead of what is actually aligned with your natural genius.
This happens all the time. Someone sees another coach selling a group program, so they build one. Someone hears that memberships are the future, so they create one. Someone’s audience asks for a course, so they make it, even though their deepest magic happens in live, intuitive, one-on-one work. Before long, they have built a business that technically makes sense, but energetically feels like dragging a dead body uphill in wet jeans.
And then they wonder why they are exhausted.
When your offers are not aligned with your genius, your energy gets stuck. The business may look fine from the outside, but inside, it starts to feel like drudgery. You stop showing up with excitement. You lose magnetism. Your frequency drops. And because soul-led businesses are so deeply tied to the energy of the founder, that misalignment does not stay hidden. People feel it, even if they cannot explain it.
This is where entrepreneurs often blame the wrong thing. They think they need better copy, a prettier website, or a more aggressive launch plan. But sometimes the offer itself is the leak. Sometimes the problem is not the marketing. It is that the thing you are trying to sell is not fully built around the part of you that is actually brilliant.
Misalignment Leak #2: You Are Using the Wrong Delivery Model
The second leak is one people do not talk about enough: the delivery model.
An offer is not just what you sell. It is also how you deliver it. And the wrong delivery model can make even a brilliant offer feel like absolute hell.
Lori shared the example of a health coach who was doing one-on-one work and felt completely drained by it. After a month with a client, she was over it. What she really wanted was to run group programs and retreats, but she had absorbed the belief that one-on-one work was the correct way to serve her clients.
This is such a big deal because the online business world loves to act like there is one right model at any given moment. One year it is courses. Then memberships. Then high-ticket one-on-one. Then communities. Then masterminds. Then retreats. Suddenly everyone is building a business model around whatever is trending, whether it fits their energy or not.
But any model can work if it fits your energy, your clients, your expertise, and the transformation you are delivering. And any model can fail if it drains the life out of you.
For some people, one-on-one work is where they shine. Others are built for groups, retreats, teaching, writing, tools, or community-based work. The question is not, “What model is trending?” The question is, “What model allows your genius to come through with the least distortion?”
Because if your delivery model constantly drains you, your clients may still get value, but they are not getting the cleanest version of your work. They are getting the version filtered through exhaustion, resentment, or over-responsibility.
And that is not a business model. That is a slow energetic hostage situation.
Misalignment Leak #3: Your Visibility Strategy Does Not Match Your Energy
The third leak Lori named is visibility. And thank God, because some of us are deeply, spiritually, cellularly over being told to just “show up more” on social media.
Visibility matters. People need to know what you do. They need to understand the problem you solve, the transformation you create, and why they should trust you. But visibility does not have to mean forcing yourself into a platform or performance style that makes you want to launch your phone into the nearest body of water.
Lori shared that podcast guesting lights her up, while social media often feels like a drag. She also talked about blogging as one of her strongest visibility strategies, especially as search and AI tools continue changing how people find experts online.
That is such an important point. Visibility is not one thing. It can be podcasts, blogs, collaborations, speaking engagements, SEO, referrals, email, video, social media, local events, interviews, or thought leadership. The strategy that works best for you is often the one you can actually sustain without betraying your nervous system every time you use it.
Some people are incredible on video. Some people are powerful writers. Some people light up in conversation. Some people are magnetic in a room. Some people build trust through long-form teaching. The problem is not visibility. The problem is misaligned visibility.
When your visibility strategy matches your energy, you do not have to perform as hard. You can show up with more truth, more clarity, and more resonance. And that is what helps the right people recognize you.
Positioning Is No Longer Optional
One of the sharpest takeaways from this episode was Lori’s point about positioning. In a crowded market, specificity matters more than ever.
It is not enough to say you help people transform. It is not enough to be “intuitive,” “soul-led,” “heart-centered,” or “aligned.” Those words may be true, but if everyone is saying them, they stop doing the work your business needs them to do. People need to understand what you actually help with, who you help, and why your work matters now.
Strong positioning makes you memorable in the moment of need. If someone says, “My offers are not connecting,” the goal is for people to say, “You need Lori.” If someone says, “I wish I could hear from my mom again,” the goal is for someone to think of a trusted medium who can help them connect with spirit in a grounded, evidential way.
That does not mean you have to shrink your magic. It means you have to make it understandable. Your depth can still be there. Your spiritual intelligence can still be there. Your complexity can still be there. But the doorway into your work has to be clear enough that people know when to walk through it.
The Real Reason Business Starts to Feel Hard
This conversation with Lori was such a powerful reminder that business alignment is not just about strategy, and it is not just about energy. It is both.
If your offers are not selling, it may not mean you are bad at business. It may mean your offer is not fully aligned with your genius. It may mean you are using a delivery model that drains you. It may mean your visibility strategy is forcing you into a version of yourself that does not feel true. Or it may mean your positioning is too broad for people to understand why they need you now.
The good news is that you do not have to fix everything at once. Even shifting one misalignment leak can change the way your business feels. When your offer reflects your genius, your energy comes back. When your delivery model supports you, your work becomes more sustainable. When your visibility strategy fits your natural strengths, showing up stops feeling like spiritual punishment with a Canva subscription.
And when your positioning gets clear, the right people can finally find you.
That is the real work of soul-led business. Not becoming louder. Not becoming more polished. Not copying the person whose business looks successful from the outside. The work is finding the structure that allows your genius to move cleanly through the business, without leaking energy at every turn.
Because your offer is not just something you sell. It is the bridge between your brilliance and the people who are waiting for it.
